Trucks to be banned in downtown HCMC for several days

HCMC – The HCMC Department of Transport has issued a notice prohibiting trucks from entering the downtown area during the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the south and the reunification of the nation (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).

The restricted area for trucks is bounded by the following routes: Do Muoi Street, Le Duc Anh Street, Le Kha Phieu Street, Nguyen Van Linh Street, the Phu My Bridge approach road (elevated section), Phu My Bridge, Vo Chi Cong Street, Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, Dong Van Cong Street, Mai Chi Tho Street, Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Hanoi Highway, and Do Muoi Street.

The ban will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on April 25, from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on April 27, and from 4:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on April 30, during which time trucks will not be allowed to enter the downtown area.

Earlier, the HCMC Traffic Police Division (PC08) also announced road closures and travel restrictions on several streets in the city center.

These measures are intended to ensure security and traffic safety during rehearsals and official ceremonies for the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the south and the reunification of the country.
