HCMC – A fatal accident occurred on the Hanoi-Haiphong Expressway in northern Vietnam this morning, July 11, leaving two people dead and six others injured.
The crash happened when two vehicles stopped right on the fast lane to resolve an earlier incident and were rear-ended by a seven-seater car.
Local news reports said that earlier that day, a pickup truck had slowed down to avoid an obstacle in front and was lightly rear-ended by a 16-seater passenger van.
Following the minor collision, three men from the two vehicles parked on Lane 1 of the expressway picked a quarrel, positioning themselves in front of the 16-seater vehicle.
At that moment, a speeding car smashed into the rear of the 16-seater passenger van and the group of men arguing in front of the van. Two of the men died at the scene, while ten others, including six injured, were taken to hospital for medical attention.
