HCMC – The UK will provide £75,000 in aid for HCMC to realize its endeavor to become a health innovation hub in the ASEAN region.
British consul general in HCMC Emily Hamblin announced the UK’s plan to provide funding to the city’s budget for conducting research to enhance the quality of medical education yesterday, October 25.
This support is expected to elevate the caliber of human resources in HCMC and expand the city’s research efforts into diseases and healthcare requirements within the region. Furthermore, the UK will facilitate opportunities for healthcare experts from HCMC to visit and study in the UK.
“Healthcare will be the mainstay in the 50-year friendly relationship and their shared vision for the future,” Hamblin said.
Currently, Liverpool and HCMC are in the process of establishing a sister partnership in the healthcare sector.
British businesses and organizations have actively participated in various projects to support the city. This includes a collaborative initiative between the University of Oxford Clinical Research Unit and the HCMC Center for Disease Control, which focuses on infectious disease monitoring.
AstraZeneca, a prominent UK-based pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company, is engaged in the implementation of a Healthcare Innovation and Science Center project in HCMC.
This project aims to bring about positive changes for patients through innovative solutions and address the everyday challenges encountered by healthcare professionals.
