HCMC – Nine Vietnamese low-carbon projects have become part of the Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) program, a technical assistance funded by the United Kingdom (UK) government.
CFA Vietnam selections include Blue Planet Environmental Solutions, Control & Automation Solutions, Dat Bike, Deep C Green, Egreen Technology JSC, Hoabinh High Tech Environment JSC, Power Engineering Consulting JSC 4, Vietnam Sustainable Materials Corporation, and VRB Energy.
The innovative projects focus on various sustainability aspects, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, electromobility (e-mobility), AFOLUs (agriculture, forestry and other land uses), decarbonization of construction, circular economy and waste management.
The projects highlight the potential of Vietnam’s private sector in tackling the climate crisis, said British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew.
CFA Vietnam will provide the projects with technical and financial support, facilitating knowledge sharing and networking between project developers, local and international financiers, business associations and policymakers.
In addition to Vietnam, the CFA program has been launched in eight countries, namely Colombia, Nigeria, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa, Peru, Egypt and Pakistan.
The UK government’s initiative is expected to support the countries in realizing the ambition of limiting global temperature rises to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
