HCMC – Three carriers under Vietnam Airlines Group – Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO – have announced plans to add nearly 550 flights with over 100,000 seats to cater to the high demand for Lunar New Year holiday (Tet) air travel.
The move leads to the total number of seats on its flights rising to 2.1 million.
The week-long Lunar New Year holiday starts on February 10.
The extra services will be available on routes from HCMC or Hanoi to destinations such as Danang, Haiphong, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hue, Dalat, Can Tho, Nha Trang, Phu Yen, and Phu Quoc.
Another Vietnamese airline, Bamboo Airways, has leased two more Airbus aircraft since January 1, 2024 to increase flights between HCMC and Hanoi and other destinations like Danang, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, and Haiphong to accommodate the strong demand for Tet air travel.
