HCMC – Vietnam Airlines has recently expanded its flight services to Bangkok, Thailand, with the inauguration of a new route connecting Danang and Don Mueang airports on November 29.
The inaugural flight, which used an Airbus A321 aircraft with flight number VN629, departed from Vietnam’s central coastal city of Danang at 20:00 and arrived in Bangkok at 21:40 on the same day.
This schedule will be maintained as the daily flight time for the new route. Flights from Don Mueang to Danang will take off at 5:05 a.m. and land at 6:45 a.m.
Dang Anh Tuan, deputy general director of Vietnam Airlines, said the launch of the new route to Don Mueang International Airport is due to increasing congestion at Suvarnabhumi Airport, another airport that serves the Bangkok Metropolitan Region.
The inauguration of this new route coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership.
With the addition of this route, Vietnam Airlines has increased its daily flight frequency between Bangkok and Vietnam to seven flights. Danang becomes the third city, after Hanoi and HCMC, where Vietnam Airlines operates flights to Thailand.
