HANOI – As many as 31 commodities imported to Vietnam from Cambodia will be entitled to a 0% duty in accordance with Decree 83/2021/ND-CP issued by the Vietnamese Government on September 14.
These products include live poultry, poultry meat and by-products, lemon, rice, bread, pastries, processed pork products and unprocessed tobacco leaves, among others.
The decree sets quotas for Cambodian rice with 300,000 tons a year and unprocessed tobacco leaves with 3,000 tons a year.
The decree stipulates special preferential import tariffs in line with the agreement on boosting bilateral trade between Vietnam and Cambodia in 2021-2022.
To enjoy the incentive, the products must have certificates of origin form S granted by Cambodia’s authorized agencies and transported through border gates listed in Appendix III of the decree, such as Le Thanh – Ou Ya Dav, Bu Prang – Dak Dam, Loc Thinh – Tonle Cham, Xa Mat – Trapeang Plong and Vinh Hoi Dong – Kampong Krosang.
Decree No. 83/2021/ND-CP takes effect from September 13, 2021 to December 31, 2022.
