Vietnam PM to visit China, U.S., Brazil this month

HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the 20th China-ASEAN Expo in China, then the 78th UN General Assembly in the U.S., and pay an official visit to Brazil this September, said the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the invitation of the Chinese Government, Prime Minister Chinh will travel to Nanning City, Guangxi to participate in the 20th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) from September 16 to 17.

During his visit, he is expected to attend the opening ceremony of these events, visit booths of Vietnamese businesses at the expo, and meet with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and other high-ranking Chinese officials.

CAEXPO and CABIS are annual joint events hosted by China and ASEAN in Nanning, and they rank among the top 10 exhibitions in China. These two events are part of the series of activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership.

Following his visit to China, PM Chinh will lead a delegation to the 78th UN General Assembly (UNGA 78) in the U.S. from September 17 to 23.

During this assembly, PM Chinh is scheduled to participate in the general debate of UNGA, the Climate Ambition Summit, and the UNGA High-level Meeting on pandemic prevention preparedness and response.

He will also have meetings with United Nations leaders and conduct bilateral discussions with leaders from some other countries and representatives of international organizations.

After his tour to the U.S., PM Chinh will pay an official visit to Brazil from September
23 to 26 at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. He is
scheduled to meet with the President of Brazil and other senior leaders.
