HCMC – Vietnam ranked eighth in Asia and 52nd globally for its innovation business environment with a score of 57.133, according to the 2026 Innovation Business Environment Index (IBEI) released this week by StartupBlink.
In Southeast Asia, Vietnam placed third, behind Singapore and Malaysia. Singapore ranked second globally, while Malaysia stood at 48th. Vietnam ranked ahead of Indonesia (53rd) and Thailand (56th).
The IBEI measures conditions supporting innovation and startup activity. StartupBlink is a Singapore-based platform that tracks global startup ecosystems, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
Vietnam recorded 67.041 points for business incentives, ranking 21st worldwide in that category. The ease of doing business indicator scored 59.611 points, placing the country 79th, while market awareness reached 37.035 points, ranking 78th.
Several supporting indicators were higher than the global average. Vietnam scored 90.8 for cost of living compared with the global average of 73.028. Internet speed reached 75, above the global average of 49.209. Market size scored 64.2, compared with the global average of 48.482.
