HCMC – The Politburo has approved a policy to give a cash gift of VND100,000 per person to citizens nationwide on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).
On the evening of August 28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued Official Telegram No. 149/CD-TTg on the gift distribution , the Vietnam News Agency reported.
According to the telegram, the initiative reflects the Party and State’s care for the people and implements the directive of Party General Secretary To Lam.
Vietnam’s population is more than 100 million, so the Government will allocate more than VND10 trillion for the gift handout.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Finance, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Ministry of Public Security, and local governments to coordinate in reviewing, compiling beneficiary lists, and distributing the gifts either via bank transfer or direct payment.
The gift will be delivered either via bank transfer or direct cash payment, with distribution to be completed before September 2.
To implement the plan, the Ministry of Finance must promptly allocate funding and submit it for approval by the competent authorities before August 29.
The State Bank of Vietnam is tasked with directing commercial banks to ensure smooth payment systems, avoiding any omissions or duplication. Local governments are responsible for coordinating the safe and timely distribution of the gift.
