Vinacomin contributes VND16.6 trillion to state budget in Jan-July

HCMC – The Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) contributed VND16.6 trillion (around US$654 million) to the state budget in the first seven months of this year, according to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

In July alone, Vinacomin paid VND2 trillion in taxes and fees. The group reported VND12.73 trillion in revenue for the month, lifting total revenue in the January–July period to over VND101 trillion. Net profit reached VND4.51 trillion, fulfilling 132.5% of its annual plan.

Coal production in July stood at 3.24 million tons, while consumption reached 2.86 million tons. Cumulative production over seven months hit 24.1 million tons. Total consumption was 28.43 million tons, including 7.72 million tons of imported coal. Coal exports neared 400,000 tons, up over 64% year-on-year.

Alumina output in July reached 112,000 tons, bringing the year-to-date total to 862,000 tons. Sales volume was slightly higher at 865,000 tons.

Copper concentrate production was 61,600 tons in July, while sales stood at 20,300 tons, exceeding monthly targets.

Electricity output reached 788 million kWh in July. Total power generation in the seven-month period amounted to 6.55 billion kWh, up 10% compared to the same period last year.

In August, Vinacomin aims to produce 2.9 million tons of coal, sell 2.94 million tons, produce 120,000 tons of alumina, and generate 651 million kWh of electricity, with total revenue projected at VND11.5 trillion.
