HCMC – The Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway section that passes through Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province is expected to get off the ground prior to June 30 next year, according to the project’s investor.

Nguyen Cong Vinh, vice chairman of the provincial government, chaired a meeting with the relevant agencies today, August 1, to discuss a draft plan for building the expressway section of the project’s first phase, reported the local media.

According to the Cai Mep-Thi Vai Terminal project management board, the project’s investor, the expressway is slated for completion and operation before September 30, 2026.

Under the draft plan, the management board would have to coordinate with the relevant agencies to ensure its quality and schedule.

The authorities of Ba Ria City and Phu My Town through which the section will run are responsible for providing support for the investor during the implementation of the project, as well as propose measures for removing any impediments to the project.

Vinh at the meeting approved the draft plan in principle and asked the investor to soon complete and submit the plan to the provincial government for issuance.

The official said site clearance for the project, which will link Ba Ria-Vung Tau with neighboring Dong Nai Province, should be sped up. By September this year, new land prices should be worked out, so that the province could proceed with site compensation and start work on the project.

The project is divided into three sections. Of them, the section passing through Ba Ria-Vung Tau will be 19.5 kilometers long and cost VND5.19 trillion, including VND1.333 trillion for site clearance.

The project will be funded VND4.52 trillion by the State budget and VND670 billion by the local budget.
