Work on roads connecting to Long Thanh airport to begin by year-end

HCMC – Two road projects leading to the under-construction Long Thanh International Airport in the southern province of Dong Nai will get off the ground in December this year, according to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).

ACV said that the design and engineering documents of the two road projects once completed will be sent to the Ministry of Transport for appraisal. Until now, they are over 60% complete.

By November this year, ACV is expected to complete selecting construction contractors for the projects.

To ensure the scheduled progress, ACV requested the province to soon hand over cleared land to the projects.

Regarding site clearance work, the road No.1 project needs over 71 hectares of land, including over 60 hectares being used by 308 local households and individuals. The road No.2 needs nearly 60 hectares of land, with over 50 hectares used by 316 households.

The local competent forces of Long Thanh District have completed checking the current status of the plots of land.

The road No.1, which is 3.8 kilometers long, will start from the western gate of the airport, linking with the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway project, the National Highway 51, and ending at the provincial route 25C.

The 3.5-km road No.2 will connect with the road No.1, then run parallel with the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway project and end at the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway.
