TTC and its endeavor to build a better community

Sticking to the long-term philosophy of “Business is a mission rather than interests,” TTC Group has relentlessly implemented community programs as a way to fulfill its social corporate responsibility (CSR). As a generous benefactor, the diversified business group has lent a helping hand to disadvantaged people nationwide, with a focus on children for a better future.

Giving wings to underprivileged children

Since its establishment in 1979, TTC Group has persistently attached great importance to CSR programs, seeking to make life better and create positive values for the community. The group and its subsidiaries have been making non-stop efforts to nurture future generations via a host of practical programs to benefit and motivate children, especially underprivileged students.

In response to the call from the Love-Sharing Group to help poor students in Dak Som Commune in Dak Nong Province’s Dak Glong District, TTC launched a program named “Love White Shirts for Students” from June 6 to 24, 2022. Through the social activity, poor students were given new uniforms and learning tools to get ready for their new school year.

The “Love White Shirts for Students” program continued to benefit needy students in HCMC. In mid-July, TTC joined hands with the Tan Binh District Women’s Union to hold the program to present sets of gifts, including a white shirt, textbooks and paint pens, to poor students at the Nguyen Van Troi Primary School.

Through this year’s program, white shirts and learning tools worth more than VND200 million were delivered to over 1,000 poor students in cities and provinces where TTC’s subsidiaries and affiliates are operating.

The group’s generosity also reached out to the northern region when TTC cooperated with other firms and donors to give a leg-up to poor students in Quang Ninh Province’s Binh Lieu District in late August. Many gifts were awarded to disadvantaged students with good academic records in the district.

Aside from nurturing poor students’ dreams of schooling, TTC Group and its members also pay strong attention to child patients, with the hope of improving their mental health while they are receiving treatment at hospitals.

On the occasion of International Children’s Day (June 1), TTC Trading collaborated with Children’s Hospital 1 in HCMC to offer 1,000 sets of gifts to children there as an encouragement for them to get through diseases.

In partnership with the Love-Sharing Group and other donors, TTC also brought happiness to children in HCMC and many provinces such as Long An and An Giang in the Mid-Autumn Festival this year. Children were given a lantern, moon cake and lucky money, apart from enjoying a joyful atmosphere and participating in various exciting traditional games.

The group has taken part in a program to take care of children orphaned by Covid-19, children of Agent Orange and those living in poverty-stricken areas.

Charitable foundation as a bridge of love

To better organize its community activities, the business group established the Thanh Ngoc Foundation, formerly called the Foundation for the HCMC community, in 2017 to make meaningful contributions to society.

In addition to giving scholarships to poor students with outstanding performance, the foundation also supports many people in need in HCMC, from veterans and patients to the elderly.

The foundation has ceaselessly maintained charitable programs in an effort to share difficulties with the poor and spread positive energy in the community. Identifying CSR practices as a lodestar of its operation over the past 43 years, TTC Group also sees the foundation as a bridge to connect love and spread the kindness of its over 6,300 employees to the community.

During the Covid pandemic, through the foundation, the group quickly rolled up its sleeves to join the fight against the health crisis with the Government and residents by making donations to the Covid vaccine fund, supporting frontline medical workers and helping the poor survive the pandemic.

Over VND66 billion sourced from the foundation and TTC’s subsidiaries was spent on these social activities during the pandemic.

Good deeds go far and wide

With the hope to bring clean water to poor people in the remote area of Ia Phi Commune in Gia Lai Province, TTC Group joined hands with the Australasia Social Impact Foundation, the provincial Red Cross Society and other donors to hand over wells to these needy people in late May.

The “Clean wells for ethnic people’s villages” program aims to hand over 200 wells to people in Gia Lai and 300 others to residents in Kon Tum in the Central Highlands region.

TTC and its subsidiaries have also carried out countless CSR practices, including donating 20 wheelchairs to Children’s Hospital 1, giving 1,000 packs of Miaha sugarcane juice to Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, presenting gifts to poor households in Long An and donating necessities to pagodas and charity centers, among other social activities.

Integrating CSR practices into its business development strategies, TTC Group always seeks to create opportunities to give back to society in each stage of its operation, making it one of the country’s most active contributors for a better community full of love, kindness and compassion.
