HCMC – Marvell Technology, Inc., a leading company in data infrastructure semiconductor solutions, yesterday, May 16, announced a plan to establish a world-class design center in HCMC.
The center was established by upgrading the Marvell Vietnam Technology Limited Liability Company at the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone in District 7, HCMC.
It will be home to advanced semiconductor engineering and will open up many career development opportunities for employees in the field of microchips and semiconductors.
Upon the project’s completion, Marvell Vietnam will become one of four world-class research and development centers of Marvell Technology, Inc., along with the U.S., India, and Israel centers.
“The establishment of Marvell’s Design Center in Vietnam is a significant step toward bridging this talent gap and fostering the semiconductor industry in Vietnam,” Loi Nguyen, executive vice president of Marvell’s Optical and Copper Connectivity Group, stated.
U.S. Consul General Susan Burns said at the event yesterday that Marvell’s commitment reflects the efforts of U.S. businesses to contribute to socioeconomic development in Vietnam.
Marvell Technology, established in 1995 and headquartered in California, is a leading company in chip and semiconductor solutions for data infrastructure. The group owns more than 10,000 patents worldwide.
Marvell Vietnam currently has about 300 employees, of which 97% are engineers.
