HCMC – Vietnam’s digital transformation is accelerating, which will put the nation’s digital infrastructure at risk, said cybersecurity experts.
During the recent CIO CSO Summit 2023 in Hanoi, Nguyen Son Hai, CEO of Viettel Cyber Security (VCS), warned that many organizations and businesses are often unaware that they might be attacked by hackers.
Data from Viettel Threat Intelligence showed that, so far this year, 12 million accounts in Vietnam have been compromised, and 48 million data records belonging to individuals and organizations have been leaked and sold on the internet. VCS also identified 5,800 domains engaged in financial scams to steal user assets.
Tran Dang Khoa, deputy director of the Authority of Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications, stressed the importance of responding to cyber threats swiftly and effectively. Cybersecurity is vital and mandatory in the operations of businesses and organizations, he noted.
Khoa also recommended addressing identified risks as a priority before investing in protection against emerging threats, and equipping staff members with cybersecurity knowledge and skills to effectively safeguard information systems.
