HCMC – To allow General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong of the Party Central Committee to focus on intensive health care, the Politburo has assigned State President To Lam to take charge of the day-to-day operations of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

At the request of the medical professionals council for cadre health care under the Central Committee for Protection and Health Care of Cadres, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has in the recent past been simultaneously doing day-to-day work and undergoing health treatment and care.

The Politburo, the Secretariat, key leaders, and the permanent member of the Secretariat have directly instructed professional agencies to mobilize a team of professors, doctors, medical staff and top experts for the treatment and care of the Party General Secretary.

Given the continued need to prioritize time for intensive treatment of the General Secretary and to ensure the overall administration of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo has assigned Politburo member and State President To Lam to look after day-to-day operations of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat as per the responsibilities and powers regulated by the Politburo.

The Politburo calls on the entire Party, people, and armed forces to have absolute trust in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State; to enhance solidarity, unity, and joint efforts; to continue to build on the important and comprehensive achievements the country has attained; to strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges; and to successfully fulfill the goals set by the 13th National Party Congress.

Authorities at all levels are urged to maintain political stability, and firmly protect national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security, social order, and safety, while promoting socio-economic development and ensuring the spiritual and material well-being of the people.
