HCMC – Ferry services to the popular southern tourist islands of Phu Quoc and Con Dao have been suspended due to the possible impact of super typhoon Yagi, which is projected to make landfall in the coast of northern Vietnam.
The Kien Giang Maritime Administration has halted all high-speed ferry operations between Rach Gia and Ha Tien cities and the islands of Phu Quoc and Nam Du, as well as ferry services to Hon Son Island.

Similarly, Phu Quoc High-speed Boat Joint Stock Company has suspended its ferry services between Vung Tau City and Con Dao Island in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province for September 7 and 8 due to adverse weather conditions.
Passengers who have already purchased tickets are being offered refunds or the option to reschedule their trips.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has warned that the super typhoon is moving into the Gulf of Tonkin with maximum sustained winds of up to 201 kilometers per hour.
Coastal provinces from Binh Thuan to Kien Giang are expected to see heavy rain, thunderstorms, and potential tornadoes.
