Four-car pileup causes congestion on HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expy

HCMC – A four-vehicle pileup on the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway caused a five-kilometer traffic jam today, February 1, with no casualties reported.

The accident involved one four-seater and three seven-seater cars and occurred at 11:00 a.m. on the Long Thanh Bridge in the Dong Nai Province-HCMC direction. The collision resulted in damage to all vehicles involved, with images from the scene showing crumpled bumpers and deployed airbags.

The accident occurred during a high-volume travel period as residents returned from their Lunar New Year holiday.

Traffic flow was impacted for over an hour, prompting police to close the expressway entrance from National Highway 51 and redirect vehicles to National Highway 1.

By 1:00 p.m., authorities were able to clear the scene, and traffic began to slowly return to normal.
