HCMC – Cai Lan Port in the northern province of Quang Ninh handled more than 60,000 tons of cargo on February 1, the fourth day of the Lunar New Year (Tet), the Vietnam News Agency reported.
The shipments included over 36,000 tons of imported wheat from the Bahamas-flagged Alba and more than 30,000 tons of imported corn from the Panama-flagged Stamina Diva.
The cargo operations were managed by Cai Lan International Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (CICT). Despite the Tet holiday, CICT ensured full staffing and equipment to handle cargo and meet the scheduled vessel turnaround.
As scheduled, the Cai Lan Port is set to welcome the Panama-flagged CS Bright, which will unload 48,000 tons of wood chips, on February 2, or the fifth day of the Lunar New Year.
In 2025, the port aims to handle 9.3 million tons of cargo and expects to achieve revenue of over VND500 billion.
