Ten Politburo members assigned to 13-member Secretariat

HCMC – The Politburo assigned 10 of its 19 members to serve on the Secretariat of the 14th Party Central Committee, under a decision signed on January 30 by Party General Secretary To Lam.

Decision No. 05/QDNS-TW allocates Politburo members to the 13-member Secretariat.

Under the decision, the following 10 Politburo members serve on the Secretariat:

1. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Central Military Commission.
2. Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, permanent member of the Secretariat and secretary of the Party Committee of Central Party Organizations.
3. Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, secretary of of the Party Central Committee, chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission.
4. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, secretary of of the Party Central Committee and the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations, and chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.
5. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, secretary of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission, chairman of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People’s Army
6. Trinh Van Quyet, Politburo member, secretary of the Party Central Committee, chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Mass Mobilization.
7. Le Minh Tri, Politburo member, secretary of the Party Central Committee, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs.
8. Pham Gia Tuc, Politburo member, secretary of the Party Central Committee, head of the Party Central Committee Office.
9. Tran Sy Thanh, Politburo member, secretary of the Party Central Committee, chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission.
10. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Politburo member, secretary of the Party Central Committee, chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Policy and Strategy.

The 14th Secretariat has 13 members in total.

The other three members of the Secretariat elected on January 23 at the first meeting of the new Party Central Committee are: Vo Thi Anh Xuan, member of the Party Central Committee and vice president of Vietnam; Pham Thi Thanh Tra, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Board of the Government’s Party Committee, and deputy prime minister; and Nguyen Van Quang, member of the Party Central Committee and chief justice of the Supreme People’s Court.
