HCMC – A conference will be held on December 17 to find ways to establish safe travel corridors between Hanoi and other parts of the country to help revive the Covid-battered tourism industry.
A representative of the Hanoi Tourism Department said the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism’s new policies on tourism promotion and a pilot program to welcome back international travelers to Phu Quoc Island City and Quang Ninh are considered positive moves on the part of the local tourism industry.
Local tour operators have also worked out plans to resume operations as the country is living with the Covid-19 pandemic.
The upcoming tourism conference is expected to find solutions for travel firms to increase visitor numbers, ride out pandemic-induced challenges, pave the way for tourism sector recovery, and promote cooperation between Hanoi City and other parts of the nation in developing new joint tour programs, reported VietnamPlus.
Delegates attending the event will discuss tourism activities in Hanoi in 2021 and a development strategy for 2022 and the following years before putting forward measures to eliminate obstacles plaguing tourism in the capital city due to the pandemic.
State agencies will sign cooperation agreements at the event to develop Covid-safe travel programs for 12 provinces and cities nationwide, including Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Haiphong, Ninh Binh and Nghe An.
Besides, as part of the event, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will form a travel survey group enabling the event’s participants to visit and experience travel products and services in some destinations in Hanoi.
The municipal tourism authority is also implementing a plan to introduce tourist attractions in Hanoi via panoramic photos to attract tourists across the country. The tourism authority encourages tourism businesses in the city to ramp up joint efforts to promote tourism on social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and Tiktok to attract young people.
