HCMC – The Binh Duong Professional Chef’s Guild presented 350 gift sets to poor children in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong for the Mid-Autumn festival.

Poor and ethnic minority children and households in Nhon Co Commune in Dak R’lap District benefited from the donation, which is part of the guild’s annual social program, on September 9.

Each gift set included five kilograms of rice, a lantern, a pack of four milk boxes, and a mooncake.

In addition, at the donation ceremony, these poor children were served various dishes cooked by the guild’s chefs.

Nguyen Van Thong, vice president of the Binh Duong Professional Chef’s Guild, said the annual charity program is aimed at showing care to disadvantaged people.

“This was the guild’s first charity activity outside Binh Duong Province. Despite some difficulties during the charity trip, the children’s smiles made us happy and forget our fatigue,” said Thong.

In March, the guild helped renovate the kitchen at the Ngoc Quy Social Protection Center in Hiep An Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province.
