HCMC – Ca Mau Province plans to allocate over VND860 billion from its budget to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport.

Nguyen Duc Thanh, director of the Ca Mau Department of Planning and Investment, said that the project aims to boost tourism, trade, and investment in the province in the near future.

The project is scheduled for 2024 and 2025, with funding sourced from the province’s medium-term public investment plan.

About 105.2 hectares of land in Ward 6 and Tan Thanh Ward will be reclaimed for the airport upgrade.

This year, the province will focus on completing investment procedures, conducting surveys, and compensating landowners. Cleared land is expected to be handed over to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam by the first quarter of 2025 to begin the upgrade.

Around 750 households and five organizations will be affected by the project and will receive support for resettlement and livelihood stabilization.
