On November 24, 2024, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center joined an important meeting with Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker, Chief Representative of UNESCO in Vietnam.
The Hue Monuments Conservation Center has so far received active and effective support from UNESCO, especially in the field of cultural heritage conservation.
The center aims to carry out various activities in the coming years with the strong support of UNESCO.
One of them is to strengthen cooperation and share experiences apart from conducting conservation training, scientific research, communication, and heritage promotion. The center also asks UNESCO to help the center do technical support, assess heritage impacts, improve management capacity, and respond to climate change.
Other activities include accompanying UNESCO in collecting documents and bringing Nguyen Dynasty relics back to Vietnam, registering for funding to restore Khai Tuong Lau, and proposing funding for the Hon Chen Palace conservation project.
The center hopes to receive sustainable support from UNESCO, international organizations, and the community to protect Hue’s heritage in the face of modern challenges.
