HCMC – The northern province of Ninh Binh, which is home to the UNESCO-listed Trang An Landscape Complex, is set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the site’s World Heritage status with a culinary and hot air balloon festival starting at 7:00 p.m. today, October 18.
Running until October 29 in Ninh Binh City, the culinary festival will feature various local delicacies, in addition to a culinary competition and a seminar on tourism development.
The event is expected to bring together participants from eight districts and cities of Ninh Binh, with 100 booths of businesses across the country participating.
The hot air balloon festival will launch between October 26 and 29. It will feature 35 hot air balloons and paragliders, flown by members of the Hanoi Paragliding Club and international pilots.
Visitors can enjoy flights twice daily, from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. About 120 booths selling local products and souvenirs will also be set up for attendees.
The Trang An Landscape Complex in Ninh Binh was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. Covering nearly 2,000 hectares, it is the first mixed natural and cultural heritage site in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
