Danang man ends Vietnam’s 99 consecutive days without Covid-19 case in community

HCMC – The Ministry of Health on July 25 confirmed that a 57-year-old male resident of Danang City has become the 416th Covid-19 patient in Vietnam, ending the country’s 99 consecutive days without Covid-19 case in the community.

The patient has tested positive for Covid-19 for five times, including two times in Danang, two times at the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang, and the final time at the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology .

The man, who lives with his wife and daughter in Lien Chieu District, has not taken any trips out of the city for some 30 days, according to the ministry.

On July 7, the man went to the Ngu Hanh Son Healthcare Center to take care of his mother. He continued to look after his mother at Danang Hospital on July 16.

After returning home from Danang Hospital, he developed symptoms of fever and fatigue on July 17. The man went to a wedding party at the For You Palace Wedding and Convention Center on September 2 Street on July 18 and visited Danang C Hospital for medical examination on July 20.

More than 100 people that had close contact with the patient have tested negative for Covid-19 once. The Danang Disease Control Center is identifying other people that had close contact with him for Covid-19 testing and quarantine.
