HCMC – Commercial flights between the Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh Province and other parts of the country will resume on October 27, ending a months-long suspension induced by the fourth wave of Covid-19, with air services linking Van Don and HCMC set to restart first.

Bamboo Airways will operate three weekly flights on the Quang Ninh-HCMC route on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flights will depart from HCMC at 3:05 p.m. and Van Don at 6:10 p.m.

Vietjet Air, another local carrier, will operate one daily flight on the route from October 31, with the flights taking off at 3:50 p.m. from HCMC and at 6:45 p.m. from Van Don.

Passengers leaving HCMC’s Tan Son Nhat airport for Van Don airport are required to produce proof of a negative test result given within 72 hours before departure.

For passengers flying from Van Don, they need to meet one of the following three conditions: full vaccination, recovery from Covid and testing negative for the coronavirus.

The resumption of commercial flights on the Van Don-HCMC route is aimed at meeting the travel demand of people after the Government agreed to reopen the domestic air routes.

Since February this year, the airport has received 249 flights transporting nearly 50,000 passengers to Vietnam, including overseas Vietnamese citizens and experts.
