HCMC – The southern province of Dong Nai on September 27 broke ground on the first phase of a road connecting key ports with Long Thanh International Airport, with a total investment of over VND2.6 trillion.

The inter-port road will be more than 15 kilometers long, starting from Ong Keo Industrial Park Road and ending at the access road to Viet Thuan Thanh Port, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

Phase one will cover 8.8 kilometers and be divided into two sections. The first, 6.9 kilometers long, will have eight lanes, while the second, 1.9 kilometers, will have four lanes. The project also includes the construction of five bridges.

The province will fund the project through its budget. Construction is expected to take 36 months.

Once completed, the road will improve road connectivity between port areas and support the development of port operations in Dai Phuoc Commune. It will also link to Long Thanh International Airport, facilitating the formation of an integrated chain of ports, logistics centers, industrial parks, and riverside urban areas, driving economic growth in Dong Nai and the broader southern key economic region.

On the same day, the Dong Nai government and private developers launched seven social housing projects totaling over 7,000 units. These include developments in Phuoc Tan, Tam Hiep, Phuoc An, Trang Bom, Ho Nai, and Tan Trieu, covering land areas ranging from 2.1 to 3.7 hectares.
