With the “Giving is receiving” motto, Häfele Vietnam has considered corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities as a way to express its gratitude to the society. CSR activities of Häfele Vietnam are aimed at not only contributing to the society but also connecting its employees and building their sense of responsibility toward the community.

Promoting employees’ community spirit

Häfele has conducted CSR activities in various aspects.

To have budgets for these activities, especially supporting poor children, the firm has initiated the Piggy Bank program, in which piggy banks have been put in all divisions of the company. The activity has attracted the participation of all employees, raising their awareness and creating opportunities for them to give back to the community.

The campaign “60-day challenge of living healthily, usefully and eruditely” by Häfele members is the highlight of the program. With an activity proving that they live healthily (playing sports, jogging…), usefully (displaying the teamwork spirit, planting trees, doing charity…) and eruditely (reading books, attending training courses, protecting the environment…), employees of Häfele would contribute one coin, equivalent to VND5,000, to the Piggy Bank. The coins would be later changed into cash which will be used for community activities.

An amazing total of 2,400 coins was collected this year, indicating the success of the program. Through the program, Häfele’s employees have jointly developed a more meaningful working environment and made the dream of wearing uniforms of students in upland areas come true.

Last year, the donations from these piggy banks and other benefactors in the company was sent to the “Warm Winter” program for children in remote areas of Binh Phuoc Province.

On the last days of last year, Häfele Vietnam joined hands with the Warm Winter charity team to present jackets and gift sets to disadvantaged students and households in Binh Phuoc Province’s Bu Gia Map District. In addition, volunteers organized many traditional folk games, a quiz show called “Golden Bell Challenge”, a football tournament and a mini music program, which brought joy and knowledge to children and encouraged them to overcome difficulties.

In October last year, strong storms repeatedly hit the central region, causing heavy human and property losses. Of which, Thua Thien Hue Province faced serious consequences as tens of people died.

Therefore, Häfele coordinated with the Cat Linh Charity Organization to present gift sets, including rice and cash, to 500 households affected by the storms in the province.

Häfele’s support helped central residents overcome the economic and spiritual losses.

Since last year, the country has been struggling to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Many medical workers in HCMC have been working day and night to save patients while facing a lack of essential protective equipment. Many of them have been infected with the coronavirus.

Therefore, in August this year, Häfele Vietnam cooperated with the Tu Tam charity team to launch the “Heading toward Saigon-confident in the frontline” program, donating protective suits and medical face masks to medical workers of the HCMC Children’s Hospital 2 and the Nha Be Hospital.

Moreover, the company has contributed to anti-pandemic funds and supported vaccination teams with an aim to soon bring life in the city back to a new normal and help the local economy recover and develop.

Improving future manpower

In addition to the efforts to help deal with urgent issues, Häfele has attached much attention to the improvement of the human resources and the encouragement of the continuous learning and knowledge sharing among students.

Häfele is now a strategic partner of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture and the University of Industrial Fine Arts, providing 40 scholarships to students of the two universities per year.

Last year, Häfele also funded the construction of a material room for students of the University of Industrial Fine Arts. The project was completed and put into operation at the end of last year.

In September and November last year, Häfele Vietnam also organized three tours to Häfele’s factory and distribution center in Binh Duong Province and design centers in HCMC and Hanoi for over 100 students of the two universities.

According to Häfele, nurturing young generations is a long-term investment. The firm has accompanied students of universities and provided them with short-term training courses so that they can have good careers in the future and contribute to the social development.

Commenting on the company’s CSR activities, Tran Viet Ha, Human Resources Director at Häfele Vietnam, said besides business development strategies with innovation as the core, Häfele Vietnam had attached much importance to the human development by focusing on the client-centric approach and contributing to the community.

The “Giving is receiving” motto is a guideline for the director board and employees of Häfele to try day-by-day to better themselves and contribute to the betterment of the society.

Häfele commits to supporting community development programs, especially in remote areas.
