Half Vietnam’s Covid-19 patients discharged, no fresh cases reported

HCMC – Vietnam has not recorded any new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, keeping the country’s tally unchanged at 251. Of this, 126 patients have recovered and been released from hospital, stated the Health Ministry.

This is the first time in the past month that the country has reported no new infections for a day.

Among the total Covid-19 infections, 156 are imported cases, while 95 others were locally transmitted. So far, Vietnam has not recorded any Covid-19 deaths.

In addition, 25 of the active cases tested negative once for the new coronavirus, now called SARS-CoV-2, and 17 others tested negative twice.

A hospital providing treatment for Covid-19 patients in the outlying district of Can Gio in HCMC is scheduled to release two recovered patients today, April 9. They, tagged as the 203rd and 234th cases, are Vietnamese who returned from overseas and were found to be infected with the respiratory disease.

As of 6 a.m. today, 77,292 people have been quarantined nationwide, with 642 being monitored at hospitals, over 48,800 self-isolating at home and the remainder under medical surveillance at other facilities.
