HCMC resumes full bus services

Must read

HCMC – Public bus services have fully resumed on 94 state-subsidized routes in HCMC starting today, May 11, to meet commuter demand after having been suspended for over a month due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The HCMC Public Transport Management Center said on May 10 that 80% of bus trips are back in service. The city’s bus schedule will be further adjusted based on demand.

Meanwhile, bus services on routes No.13 and No.94, which connect Saigon and Cho Lon bus terminals, respectively, with Cu Chi Coach Station, remain suspended until May 14. These two will be switched to non-subsidized routes when they resume regular operations on May 15.

The HCMC Public Transport Management Center, bus drivers and their assistants and passengers were required to maintain full compliance with measures against Covid-19 such as wearing face masks while on board and in public places, regularly washing or disinfecting their hands and maintaining good personal hygiene.

Also, bus riders should limit social contact and eating on buses. Bus drivers and assistants have to clean and disinfect buses after each trip.

Earlier, the city had resumed operations on 72 bus routes on May 4.
