HCMC – The government of HCMC today, July 18, announced plans to organize the second friendship dialogue (FD) and the fifth economic forum (HEF) in September this year to foster international relations and explore industrial transformation opportunities.
The FD, themed “Industrial Transformation: Experiences and Priorities in Development Cooperation,” will take place from September 23 to 24, bringing together leaders from 58 international sister cities and localities to strengthen ties and promote cultural exchange with HCMC.
A highlight of the FD will be the groundbreaking ceremony of the HCMC international friendship symbol at Ben Bach Dang Park in District 1.
Shortly after the FD, the HEF will be held between September 24 and 27 under the theme “Industrial Transformation, New Driving Force for Sustainable Development of HCMC.” The forum aims to share insights on socioeconomic performance, discuss key programs for HCMC’s development, and enhance Vietnam’s and the city’s status in the international stage.
Discussions at the HEF will particularly focus on the trends shaping industrial transformation globally, and explore governance ecosystems and policies that can effectively drive this change.
The HEF will include the launch of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in HCMC, the second such center in Southeast Asia. This center will join the World Economic Forum’s global network, collaborating in research, policy recommendations, resource mobilization, and technology transfer in industrial transformation.
