HCMC – The Ministry of Construction has announced the merger of the HCMC Maritime Administration with the Vung Tau Maritime Administration, and the Danang Maritime Administration with the Quang Nam Maritime Administration.
According to the ministry, the move is part of efforts to enhance management efficiency and improve the performance of the country’s maritime sector.
Following the merger, the two new entities will have the names HCMC Maritime Administration and Danang Maritime Administration.
Both will operate under the Vietnam Inland Waterways and Maritime Administration, which is responsible for completing legal procedures and overseeing the organizational restructuring to ensure smooth operations before the new structure takes effect on August 1.
Post-merger, the HCMC Maritime Administration will assume the authority, legal obligations, and management responsibilities previously held by both the HCMC Maritime Administration and Vung Tau Maritime Administration. The Danang unit will likewise take over the full functions and scope of both the Danang and Quang Nam offices.
