HCMC – Hoa Phat Group (HOSE: HPG) paid VND13 trillion to the state budget in 2025 across 20 provinces and cities.
Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel was the largest contributor, paying VND8.24 trillion in taxes and fees, including value-added tax on imports, import-export duties and domestic taxes.
Hoa Phat Hai Duong Steel followed with VND2.03 trillion, up 48% from 2024.
Other subsidiaries with large payments included Hoa Phat Steel Pipe with VND688 billion, Hoa Phat Refrigeration with VND666 billion, Hoa Phat Construction & Urban Development with VND386 billion, and Hoa Phat Hung Yen Steel with VND307 billion.
From its stock market listing in 2007 to December 31, 2025, Hoa Phat paid a total of VND101 trillion to the state budget.
Closing the trading session today, January 19, HPG edged up 0.36% to VND27,700, with 40.4 million shares changing hands.
Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index rose 0.93% to 1,896.59 points on Monday, backed by sharp gains in energy shares and broad advances in banking stocks. The Hochiminh Stock Exchange recorded 167 gainers and 153 decliners by the close. Trading volume reached more than 1.16 billion shares worth VND37.55 trillion, up 14.85% in volume and 9.3% in value from the previous session. Block deals accounted for about 330.9 million shares valued at VND11.09 trillion.
The VN30-Index added nearly 14 points, with 18 stocks rising and nine falling. SAB posted the largest decline in the basket, down 2.7%, followed by MSN, down 1.5%, and DGC, down 1.4%.
Energy stocks led the market. PLX surged to its ceiling price of VND55,600, with more than 11.8 million shares traded. GAS climbed 6% to VND105,800, with a trading volume of 4.5 million shares.
Vingroup-related stocks also supported the index. VIC picked up 1.3% and contributed the most to the VN-Index, adding about 3.5 points.
Banking stocks recorded broad gains. VPB rose 2.6%, MBB added 1.7% and TCB increased 1.4%. HDB, ACB, CTG and SHB advanced around 1%. SHB led the sector by liquidity with 59.6 million shares traded, followed by VPB with 30.8 million and MBB with 27.2 million.
In the securities sector, VIX jumped 5.3% to VND26,000 per share and posted the highest trading volume on the market at nearly 68.1 million shares. SSI traded around its reference price with about 23 million shares changing hands, while HCM fell 2.3% on similar volume.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index advanced 1.06% to 254.95 points. The exchange saw 68 winners and 74 losers, with trading volume of nearly 96.5 million shares worth VND2.33 trillion.
