Hoang Anh Gia Lai’s chairman registers to buy 10 million HAG shares

HCMC – Doan Nguyen Duc, chairman of Hoang Anh Gia Lai JSC, has registered to buy 10 million HAG shares to increase his ownership from 30.26% to 31.2% of the company’s charter capital.

Transactions are expected to take place from June 16 to June 30, mainly through block deals. Given the closing price of VND12,800 on June 13, Duc is estimated to spend around VND130 billion on the share purchases.

At the firm’s 2025 annual general meeting on June 6, Duc revealed plans to expand into new business areas.

The company is set to griw 2,000 hectares of mulberry and 2,000 hectares of coffee. According to the company, mulberry is expected to generate higher profits than many other crops.

By 2030, Duc said the company may expand to 2,000 hectares of mulberry and 4,000 hectares of coffee.

Regarding the stock market today, June 13, the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange fell by 7.50 points, or 0.57%, to close at 1,315.49, with 69 stocks advancing and 263 declining.

Over 1.2 billion shares worth VND27.14 trillion were transacted, up 40% in volume and 37% in value from the previous session. Block deals accounted for more than 48.6 million shares worth a total of around VND1.16 trillion.

The VN30 basket still saw a large number of decliners, led by GVR, which dropped 4.7% to VND27,200. SHB followed with a 3% loss to VND12,900, along with VRE and VHM.

On the positive side, oil and gas stocks gained momentum from rising crude prices. PLX hit the daily limit, jumping 7% to VND37,700. GAS advanced over 2.5% to VND64,000, with 3.7 million shares changing hands.

On the northern bourse, the HNX saw 44 gainers and 121 decliners, with the HNX-Index dropping 2.91 points, or 1.28%, to 224.82 points. Trading volume totaled over 162.7 million shares valued at a combined VND2.81 trillion.
