HCMC – The price of domestic gold bars fell by VND500,000 per tael this morning, July 30, to VND79 million per tael, according to local media reports.
The State Bank of Vietnam today revised down the selling price of SJC-brand gold bars via the four State-run banks and the Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) by VND500,000 to VND78 million per tael. As a result, the selling price at authorized enterprises and banks also decreased.
Major jewelry firms bought SJC gold bars at VND77 million per tael and sold them at VND79 million per tael, a VND500,000 drop against yesterday’s close after six consecutive sessions of prices being stable. The difference between buying and selling prices stayed at VND2 million.
The price of 24K gold rings also slid due to global market volatility. At SJC, each tael of gold rings was sold at VND77 million, with other firms pricing their gold rings similarly.
