HCMC – Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi is expected to serve nearly 110,000 passengers during the National Day holiday, up 20% year-on-year, with measures in place to ensure safe and seamless operations.
The airport has convened a meeting with key units to devise operation plans for the holiday, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
Holiday passenger traffic is expected to spike, with international arrivals on some days approaching a record 44,000, fueled by large delegations traveling to Hanoi for National Day celebrations and an expanded international flight network.
Domestic travel demand is also set to surge as people nationwide head to Hanoi for major cultural and arts events.
On peak days, Noi Bai is expected to handle around 110,000 passengers on 638 flights, up 20% from the same period in 2024. From August 14 to September 2, flight operations at the airport will be bustling with various service activities.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has designated Van Don International Airport as a temporary backup for Noi Bai from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., August 27 to September 2.
