HCMC – The two largest hydropower reservoirs in northern Vietnam – Hoa Binh and Tuyen Quang – have each closed one of their bottom sluice gates to help ease flooding downstream, local media reported.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan has issued an official notice about this measure.
As of 12 p.m. on September 10, the Hoa Binh Reservoir in Hoa Binh Province has one bottom sluice gate remaining open, while the Tuyen Quang Reservoir in Tuyen Quang Province has six remaining sluice gates open.
Relevant agencies are being urged to closely monitor rainfall, flooding, the safety of reservoir structures, and water levels both upstream and downstream.
