HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the expanded BRICS Leaders’ Conference in Kazan, Russia, from October 23 to 24.
At the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who serves as the BRICS Group chairman in 2024, PM Chinh will lead a high-ranking delegation to the summit, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The BRICS summit in Kazan will address key issues such as energy and food security, the use of national currencies in bilateral and multilateral transactions, BRICS membership expansion, and new forms of cooperation.
BRICS originally comprised Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, representing about 40% of the global population and 25% of the global economy.
