HCMC – Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC expects to handle about 131,000 passengers a day during the 2026 New Year holiday, up 9% from current traffic and 17% higher than last year’s New Year peak schedule.

Flight activity is projected at around 760 movements per day, including 450 domestic and 310 international services. That represents a 6% increase from the current schedule and a 12% rise compared with the 2025 New Year period. Most of the growth is on domestic routes, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

The busiest days are forecast to be January 1 and January 4, 2026, the first and last days of the holiday. On each of those days, the airport expects about 786 flights and roughly 135,000 passengers.

The airport said it is coordinating with airlines and relevant agencies to prepare service plans, ensure security and operational safety, and manage peak-hour traffic. Flight information will be updated regularly to balance resources and ease congestion.

Domestic flights operated by Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Vasco, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines and Sun PhuQuoc Airways have been moved to the new Terminal T3. VietJet Air continues operating domestic services at Terminal T1.
