HCMC – The Ministry of Transport has disbursed VND51.2 trillion in public investment capital so far this year, achieving 68% of its 2024 target, according to ministry data.
The Government initially allocated nearly VND71.3 trillion for the ministry in 2024. This amount was later increased to VND75.5 trillion with an additional VND1.24 trillion from surplus central revenue in 2022 and about VND3 trillion for underfunded Group B projects.
To accelerate disbursement, the ministry has urged project managers and contractors to mobilize equipment and collaborate with local authorities to resolve land clearance and relocation issues.
Funds from delayed projects are being reallocated to projects that can make faster disbursement. Administrative procedures have also been streamlined to expedite payments to contractors.
The Ministry of Transport has emphasized the importance of monthly progress tracking to ensure that disbursement goals are met by the end of the year.
