HCMC – The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam’s National Economics University and BDO to enhance professional training and mobility in the country’s financial sector.
The MoU was signed during a financial services reception at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Hanoi on September 16, part of the visit of the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Alastair King.
King said the agreement underlined the UK’s role as a partner in Vietnam’s economic development, adding that cooperation in green finance, fintech, and infrastructure would create new opportunities for both countries.
The Lord Mayor also met members of the Young Presidents’ Organisation, the British Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, and the British Corporate Advocacy Council, and engaged with officials from the National Data Association and the Ministry of Public Security to prepare for an international data economy conference in December.
The signing came as the UK and Vietnam marked 15 years of their strategic partnership.
