HCMC – Hanoi City’s health authority has made a list of 680,000-840,000 children at 12 to 17 years of age eligible to receive Covid-19 vaccine shots, according to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control.
Speaking at a seminar on the vaccination of children on October 28, Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of the municipal center, said that the ministry asked local authorities to prepare plans to vaccinate children in line with a roadmap based on the Covid situation and the availability of vaccines.
The city is preparing equipment and sites to ensure the vaccination of children is smooth and safe, he said.
Preparations for the child vaccination campaign will be tough as a large number of family members will take children to vaccination sites amid the injection risk, Tuan added.
Besides, several districts in Hanoi City are preparing lists of children aged 3 to 17, but those aged three and older will start to get their first shot in early 2022, in line with the Hanoi Health Department’s earlier plan.
However, the municipal department has yet to issue a detailed plan to vaccinate eligible children, Thanh Nien Online reported.
On October 27, HCMC vaccinated some 1,800 students aged 16 to 17 in Cu Chi District and District 1.
