HCMC – The upgrade of four railway stations in northern Vietnam, part of the northern railway rehabilitation project, is expected to conclude this month, according to the railway management authorities.

The four stations undergoing upgrades are Gia Lam, Cam Giang, Hai Duong and Lang Son, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

Currently, work on the rail track structure, water drainage system, and the road-rail bridge at Gia Lam station is in progress. Simultaneously, activities such as roofing the road-rail bridge, constructing restrooms, and installing fencing are taking place at Cam Giang station.

The renovation of Hai Duong station is nearing completion. Meanwhile, at Lang Son station, efforts are underway to build a new warehouse and install lighting devices and a fire-fighting and prevention system.

Dong Dang and Lang Son stations are currently awaiting cleared sites to finalize several categories of work.

The project to renovate railway stations in the north, approved by the Ministry of Transport in 2022, includes both passenger and cargo stations. The project requires VND470 billion, which will be sourced from the state budget for the mid-and long-term investment plan from 2021 to 2025.
