HCMC – The Vietnam International Agricultural Fair 2022 kicked off at the Can Tho Promotion Agency (CPA) this morning, November 2, with 250 booths from over 100 domestic and international enterprises and a series of important events lasting until November 6.
The fair aims to support enterprises in restoring their production, promoting their brands and reinforcing connections with their partners after the pandemic, according to Nguyen Thi Kieu Duyen, director of CPA.
The fair will have some 250 booths from over 100 firms and agencies in localities such as Hanoi, HCMC, Hai Duong, Ben Tre, Tay Ninh, An Giang, Tien Giang, Ha Nam, and Lao Cai, and other countries such as India, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea and China.
These firms are introducing a variety of high-tech agricultural machinery and equipment, production and processing lines, as well as industrial-agricultural products.
Other agricultural materials, fertilizers, pesticides, technology for agricultural production, preservation techniques, forest products, handicrafts and agro-forestry-aquatic processed products are also on display at the fair.
Moreover, the fair is showcasing many products of the One Commune, One Product Program and others with the potential to join the program, high-quality plant varieties, commercial and consumer goods for farmers and rural areas, and regional specialties.
The fair will last five days with various activities to attract visitors. For example, the product traceability management system in Can Tho City was unveiled at the opening ceremony this morning.
The Techmart for Agriculture 2022, which introduces agricultural equipment and post-harvest technology, will be held by the Can Tho Department of Science and Technology and CPA every day at the fair.
On November 3 morning, CPA will partner with the Ao Dai Museum and Can Tho Youth Union to organize the “Leaf Festival” to promote architecture, cuisine and artworks, as well as stipulate environmental conservation activities through the use of leaf-based products.
Visitors can enjoy music performances and learn how to make traditional cakes and handicraft products from coconut leaves, as well as draw pictures on leaves, etc.
During the fair, enterprises will organize many trade promotion activities to boost their connection with other manufacturers and distributors. Every night, visitors can also enjoy the performance of bands from Can Tho City and Dance Sports clubs such as Fox Band, Moc Band and Thien Nam Band.
Some five conferences and seminars will take place at the fair, including a scientific conference on the “Application of technology for urban agriculture’s sustainable development”, a preliminary conference on “Coordination program for the quality improvement of agriculture-forestry-fishery products in Can Tho and other localities in 2022” on November 2, and the seminar “Promoting the commercialization of the research results, products, technology and equipment from institutes, universities, enterprises, science and technology organizations” on November 3.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the fair, Can Tho chairman Tran Viet Cuong said, “This fair plays an essential role in the development of the agricultural sector in Vietnam, especially the Mekong Delta, as it creates good opportunities for enterprises to apply and exchange innovative and advanced technology. This is especially true for mechanical technology, biological technology, circular technology, technology 4.0 and digital transformation in production and environmental protection.”
