HCMC – The Ministry of Transport has announced plans to construct an airport in the central province of Quang Tri and another in the south-central province of Binh Thuan by 2030.

These initiatives are part of the ministry’s development plan for regional transportation and logistics systems to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Central Vietnam includes Danang City, as well as the coastal provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan.

Quang Tri Province is located in the north-central region, while Binh Thuan Province is situated in the south, adjacent to the southern provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

In addition to the construction of the new airports, the ministry aims to upgrade existing facilities and improve aviation services at nine other airports already operational in the region.

Furthermore, a new logistics center will be established to facilitate freight transportation activities at Danang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport.

The ministry also plans to develop logistics hubs in areas with an annual transportation demand exceeding 250,000 tons.
