HCMC – Domestic airlines are planning to increase flight frequencies during the Hung Kings’ death anniversary and the April 30-May 1 holiday period to meet growing travel demand, despite a sharp rise in aviation fuel prices.

Vietnam Airlines Group, comprising Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and Vasco, has planned to offer nearly 1.12 million seats on domestic and international routes during the upcoming holiday peak, up 15.5% year-on-year.
To support this expansion, the group is expected to operate close to 5,500 flights across its entire network.
On the domestic front, more than 3,800 flights with over 730,000 seats will be deployed, up around 13.3% in flight frequency and 16% in seat capacity compared to the same period last year.
Additional flights will be concentrated on high-demand routes connecting major economic hubs and tourist destinations, with capacity on the Hanoi-Danang-HCMC corridor rising by nearly 30%.
Services to key leisure destinations will also expand, with flights to Nha Trang and Phu Quoc increasing by nearly 20%, while routes to Hue and Quy Nhon will see gains of more than 5%.
On the international network, airlines within Vietnam Airlines Group are expected to operate nearly 1,700 flights with close to 390,000 seats, up 13.4% in flight numbers and 14.4% in seat capacity against the same period in 2025.
