HCMC breaks ground on VND323-billion innovation startup center

HCMC – Work on an innovation startup center at 123 Truong Dinh Street in HCMC’s District 3, aimed at becoming the country’s first modern innovation startup center and contributing to completing a project to support the national innovative startup ecosystem by 2025, began today, October 1, with a total investment of VND323 billion.

The center, which is designed to have a floor area of 16,970 square meters over 12 stories, including three underground floors, is set to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2022, Nguoi Lao Dong Online reported.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the center expected to be used for 50-100 years, HCMC Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong said that the innovation startup center would provide infrastructure services for startup and innovation activities.

Besides, the center will act as a bridge to connect universities and research institutes with manufacturers and enterprises.

The HCMC chairman urged investors, project managers and contractors to enhance efforts to complete the construction on schedule.
