Around 23.5 million tons of coal supplies for power plants in H1

HCMC – Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation (Vinacomin) supplied around 26.77 million tons of coal in the first half of this year, with 23.47 million tons for thermo-power plants.

According to a report cited by Baochinhphu news site, coal supply for electricity generation increased by two million tons compared to the same period last year.

Vinacomin’s member units produced 27.36 million tons of commercial coal between January and June this year, achieving 52.9% of the full-year plan and rising by 11% year-on-year.

Their raw coal production reached 20.61 million tons, equivalent to 53.2% of the year’s plan, while clean coal production was estimated at 20.5 million tons.

The general director of Vinacomin, Dang Thanh Hai, emphasized that the group achieved its targets, ensuring sufficient coal supply for electricity production as directed by the Government.

To achieve the 2024 targets, Vinacomin will intensify production efforts, maximize resource utilization, and implement digital transformation to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve efficiency in production and business operations.
